Report: French judge wants to probe Guantánamo torture claims 17 Jan 2012 A French judge is seeking U.S. permission to visit the prison camps at Guantánamo Bay to investigate claims by former French inmates that they were tortured, the Associated Press reported from Paris on Tuesday. The AP reported that it saw a formal international request from investigating judge Sophie Clement to U.S. authorities to see the prison. Clement also seeks copies of all documents relating to the arrest and transfer of three Frenchmen who were held at Guantánamo. The men told the judge during questioning in France that they were subject to violence including torture and rape during their detention.

Anonymous claimed it crashed Copyright.gov, but the site seemed to be loading normally. They said FBI.gov would be "next," but the site was not yet having any problems. Scott Walker (R) Tuesday, far more than the 540,208 needed to spark a recall election. The filing kicks off the latest phase in a fight over collective bargaining rights that began almost as soon as Walker took office last January. Democrats also filed 845,000 signatures to trigger a recall against Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch (R) and enough to recall four Republican state senators, according to party chairman Mike Tate.
