Jordanian lawmakers call for the expulsion of Israel's ambassador to Amman in response to the regime's deadly attacks on the Gaza Strip.

"Thirty deputies signed a memorandum on Saturday condemning the Israeli aggression on Gaza and demanding that the government expel the Israeli ambassador to Jordan," lawmaker Bassam Haddain, who led the initiative, told AFP on Sunday.

"The political atmosphere in Jordan is against Israel's arrogant polices and it is growing. We expect more parliamentarians to sign the memo today," he added.

Earlier on Saturday, Israeli warplanes and apache helicopters pounded at least 30 targets across the coastal enclave and so far have killed 300 people, including women and children.

The airstrikes which hit schools, a prison, a television station as well as a mosque have left hundreds of others wounded.

The lawmaker also demands that the government summon the ambassador to Israel and "end all forms of normalization in response to the Israeli massacres in Gaza."

Jordan signed a 1994 peace treaty with Israel to become the second Arab country, after Egypt, to restore ties with the regime.
