Koshish (COVA's Theater Group) Wins 3 Prizes in National Festival- Signature Campaign Launched for Activation of Area Sabhas and Ward Committees of GHMC

As part of the Two Month Campaign that was Launched to Activate Area Sabhas and Ward Committees of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), a Signature Campaign was Launched on 2nd February 2012 at Peoples Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. Hundreds of people, especially youth participated with enthusiasm, signed the petition and the banner. The Signature Campaign will continue in different localities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad for two months with the objective of making people aware and also to put pressure on GHMC to conduct the meetings of Area Sabhas and Ward Committees regularly and as per stipulation. The event received good Print and TV coverage. News paper clippings attached.

 

Great News from Koshish Theatre Group!!

Koshish (COVA's Theater Group) Won 3 Prizes in All India Multilingual Children, Youth and Women's Play, Dance and Mime Competitions 2012 organised by The Theatre Movement, Orissa at Cuttack from 20th to 31st January 2012. Over 200 groups from all over the country participated in this 11 Day program.

 

Koshish Theater Group bagged the First Prize for Mime, Second Prize for the original Play Rajhans - conceived and enacted by Koshish depicting the efficiency and compassion of governance if a common man becomes a ruler. The Third Prize was bagged by Ali Ahmad of Koshish for Folk Dance.

 

The winning Troupe comprised of Dr. Gopi Krishna (Story, Script Writer and Director), Basharat Hussain, Rahul, Ali Ahmad, Srikant, Nikhilesh, Lokesh, Arif and Ram. Back stage support was provided by Shiva and Rajesh. All these (except Dr. Gopi Krishna) are youth from the old city of Hyderabad studying from 10th Standard to MBA.
