Human Rights Defenders Alert – India has issued urgent appeals to the NHRC, its Focal Point for Human Rights defenders, the Hon. Chairperson of the NHRC, the Chief Justice of India and the UN Special Rapporteur,  the Chief Minister of the Tamil Nadu  ,  Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission and other concerned authorities in Tirunelveli district regarding the attack and stone pelting on the Human Rights Defenders fighting for the koodankulam issue including 15 women.

 

We request you to address solidarity appeals to the authorities in your organizational / individual capacities. If you choose to use a model appeal that we have created, please feel free to do the same. It is appended - use after filling in portions in red. Beneath the model appeal are the addresses of the authorities. Please inform us of any action you take in this regard at hrda.india@gmail.com or pamelin@pwtn.org
