Monday, January 9, 2012: Mrs. Blanche Mascarenhas and Mr. Joaquim Pereira the two Food chemists from the Directorate of Food and Drugs Administration who had been posted at Goa Raj Bhavan since 2004 as "Food Security" for the Governor of Goa have now
been withdrawn.
Adv. Aires Rodrigues had last month raised the issue stating that the two Food Chemists posted at Goa Raj Bhavan was an unnecessary huge financial burden on the State exchequer to the tune of around Rs one lakh a month which had been going on for the last seven years in the name of so called "Food Security".
Adv. Rodrigues had demanded that the services of these two food chemists posted at Goa Raj Bhavan without any work for the last seven years be withdrawn and instead be utilized to check the food adulteration going on across Goa.
Adv. Rodrigues had also pointed out that no other Raj Bhavan in the country was provided with such food security.
The Food Security at Goa Raj Bhavan began in 2004 when Mr. S.C. Jamir took over as Governor, continued during Dr. S.S.Sidhu's tenure and even after Mr. K. Sankaranarayanan took over as part time Governor of Goa in September last year.
