Fed may give loans to IMF to bail out euro zone central banks: paper 04 Dec 2011 The Federal Reserve, along with the 17 euro zone national central banks, may help provide the International Monetary Fund with funds that could be used to aid debt-ridden states, a German newspaper said. Die Welt cited sources close to the negotiations as saying the euro zone central banks could pay at least 100 billion euros ($134.2 billion) into a special fund that could be used for programs for nations struggling to control their debts. "Also other central banks, for example the U.S. Federal Reserve, are apparently prepared to finance a part of the costs," the paper said in an advance copy of an article to appear on Monday. [WHY should US taxpayers -- via the (audit-or-eliminate) Federal Reserve -- bail out European banksters? This is INSANE.]

Police include Occupy movement on 'terror' list --The Occupy movement is listed alongside threats posed by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia (FARC), 'Al Qaeda' and Belarusian terrorists. 05 Dec 2011 City of London Police have sparked controversy by producing a brief in which the Occupy London movement is listed under domestic terrorism/extremism threats to City businesses. The document was given to protesters at their "Bank of Ideas" base on Sun Street – a former site of financial corporation UBS. City police have stepped up an effort to quell the movement since they occupied the building on 18 November, with the document stating: "It is likely that activists aspire to identify other locations to occupy, especially those they identify with capitalism." Israeli researchers develop substance that attacks antibiotic-resistant germs 05 Dec 2011 Israeli researchers are laying the groundwork for a spray which they say will make it easier to get rid of the antibiotic-resistant germs that plague hospitals, here and around the world. If used on a large scale, their method could change the nature of hospital-acquired infections "toward being more susceptible to antibiotics rather than more resistant," the researchers say in an article in this month's issue of Applied and Environment Microbiology, a journal published by the American Society for Microbiology.
