Ref. Dalit Voice, Sept. 16-30, 2003: Buddhists are the happiest people in the world. Nobody can answer quickly if someone is asked which religion's people are the happiest people in the world/ But some brain scientists have drawn conclusions that the Buddhists are the happiest, the most ecstatic/joyful, calm and peace-loving people. The brain scientists conducted scanning test on brain of Buddhists. It is observed that a particular portion of brain is founding shining continuously. This shining is observed not only while meditating but without meditation also. These symptoms are attributed to positive thinking, good behaviour and good sentiments of the Buddhists. Scientists of Wisconsin University of Madison scanned brains of Buddhists several times. The front portion of left side of brain was found more active. This portion of brain is related to positive sentiments, self- control and temperature. Same kind of test was conducted by California University of San Francisco. They concluded that a part of brain i.e. Amigde3l, which stores fearful memories, is under control and as such it becomes calm. The scientists came to know that the Buddhist possess less feeling of worries, frustrations and anger as compared to others. So is the scientific reason that Buddhists are the happiest people in the world.
