"HELPLESS CHILD" DISABLED CHILD HELPLINE

A 12 year child named Monnat along with other two more minor boys were working as a bounded labor in slaughter house situated at Gazi Pur under control of Siddiqui Ali and Maneer. These two contractors locked Monnat in a room and beat that boy badly and also gave him electric shocks. The other two minor boys were also being continuously beaten by the contractors. These three minor boys along with one another boy of 16 years somehow managed to run from the trap of contractors today i.e. on 25th May, 2011 and they reach to New Seema Puri. Some people of New Seema Puri approached to our office in order to provide help to those children. We called on 1098 and after some time we received a call from no. 011-22577917 and then he asked about the matter of those children and asked us to reach to his office at Tahir pur, Delhi. We asked him that one of the boys is very serious and he is not able to move rather. At this that fellow asked us to call to police and the police will automatically hand over the boys to us. When I asked their name at this that person stated that we do not disclose our identity (name & address).

We called on 100 number the PCR van came after half an hour. After some time two constable and S.I. from Seema Puri Police station came on the spot and taught us law for around an hour and afterwards they went away. We again called on 100 number as the situation of the boy Monnat was continuously deteriorated as his neck was getting stiffed.

As we knew coordinator of child helpline Mr. Varun therefore we called him on his mobile number and narrated all the matter, and then he stated that he will send some person on the spot. After some time two fellows from child helpline came on the spot, but till then those boys were taken to the hospital by PCR van.

Monnat belong to village Guttipada, District Dhupuri, Assam. Out of these four boys one boy was of 16 years and he told that not only these three boys but there are more than 10 minor boys who are working as bounded labor with the same contractor.

We would like to thank Mr Varun because we called him and sought support from child helpline and because of him some one came from child helpline. But think about a common man who does not know Mr Varun and have faith in the big hoardings that child helpline works for the welfare of children, but if in case s/he calls on this number must be disappointed after getting the null response from the number.

Therefore we humbly request the child helpline that the reputation does not build up by distributing pamphlets or displaying big hoardings on road side but actually it needs to be functional on ground. We are very sorry to share with you that we have called on child helpline more than 10 times but until unless we personally called Mr. Varun we did not get any response from the child helpline.
