Dear Friends,
On behalf of the Asia to Gaza Solidarity Caravan and India Lifeline to Gaza we are writing to request you to support the Asia to Gaza Solidarity Caravan by endorsing the initiative and by contributing solidarity funds.
As you are aware, several mass organisations and civil society groups have been demanding that the Government of India brings to end all economic and military relations with Israel and pursues an independent foreign policy that converges with other countries in forcing a major retreat of the US. This is possible with a growing international movement for Palestine and spreading global public opinion that is significantly impacting the legitimacy of the US-Israel axis. Palestine has emerged as a weak point of the imperialist strategy. To that end, we call for, and commit to, build and participate in a global democratic people's movement to work in alliance with the people of Palestine for the freedom of Palestine and resolve to constitute the Asian People's Solidarity for Palestine, an alliance of peoples' organisations, social movements, trade unions and civil society institutions of peoples of Asia. It is important that Indian people play a part both, in initiating and building, the Asian alliance for Solidarity with Palestine and forcing the Indian State to delink from the US-Israel axis.
It is against this background and in view of the adverse changes in the global political environment that many peoples' organisations, social movements, trade unions, civil society institutions and individuals became a part of a larger platform Indian Lifeline to Gaza and the Asian People's Solidarity for Palestine to organise an Asian land and sea convoy leaves from New Delhi on 2 December 2010 and travels across the Asian countries of Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, and Jordan to reach Gaza-Palestine on 27 December, anniversary of Israel's attack on Gaza in 2008.
We are coordinating with organisations in Indonesia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. From India we are already 45 of us participating in the Caravan from 15 states. We call upon all progressive and democratic organisations and peace loving people to endorse, and support the Asia to Gaza Solidarity Caravan.
We are writing to request you to make a solidarity contribution for the Caravan. Every contribution to the solidarity fund will go a long way in organising a successful Solidarity Caravan. Please let us know what amount you are able to contribute. The contribution can be made by cheque, demand draft or cash.

- If your contribution is in cheque or demand draft, it should be in the name of 'NTUI Campaigns' and sent to:
Receipts will be issued for your contribution and audited accounts will be sent every six months to all participants and contributors as well as put up on the campaign's website.
We also take this opportunity to invite you to join us in New Delhi on 2 December 2010 to flag off the Caravan, and if possible, to accompany us from New Delhi upto Wagah Border where there will be a public meeting on 4 December to send off this historic Caravan.
