FUTURE OF THE JAMMU AND KASHMIR CITIZENS: THERE WILL BE NO COMPROMISE OF THE PRINCIPLE OF THE UN RESOLUTION OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL OF 1948

Habib Yousafzai

Spokesperson

The World Kashmir Diaspora (WKDA), an alliance of international Kashmiri organizations, would like to make it amply clear that 'there will be no compromise whatsoever of any kind in the principle of peace advised by the United Nations Security Council Resolution of 1948. Parties involved in the Internationally Disputed Areas of Jammu and Kashmir (IDAJK) is the 'Self-Determination carried out under the auspices of the United Nations peace force. Even the invitation of attention of President Barak Hussein Obama is good, but the parties must not forget that none can alter the Security Council Resolution of 1948. Besides, no one can trust the 'Brahmins-Hindus alleged Indian democracy, the major stumbling block in the implementation of the principle of the UN: Security Council. President Obama, Hon Putin of Russia or any other honourable dignitaries would like to aid in the solution of the ISAJK people, in view of their sufferings. persecution, pogroms, stage-encounters, humiliation, dehumanization, etc. by the 'Brahmins-Hindus' alleged Indian armed forces, would be welcomes by the IDAJK people, but there must not be any drift from the principle for the resolution of the unnecessary human sufferings, since the origin of the dispute of the areas in question.

It cannot be overlooked that in the past 63-year or more, facts are indicative of the non resolution of the IDAJK dispute. The overwhelming presence of the armed forces in the areas is domineering, frightening and most intimidating. Such belligerence of the 'Brahmins-Hindus alleged Indian state, which is meant to sustain the occupation or its 'integral' part, has affected the peoples' life in all aspects, i. e., social, psychological, economic, cultural, educational and political life, to say the least.

The history of human rights abuses and denial by India of internationally guaranteed right to self-determination is explicit and well recorded within the relevant institutions of international community, including the UN.

Massacres, extrajudicial killings, mass murders and mass graves, rape as weapon of psychological war, arbitrary detentions and draconian laws have become part of the instrument of occupation and harassment of the people in dispute(s).

India's record of plundering the natural resources including water resources for India's own development without any recompense to the indigenous people draws no parallel even in the colonial rules of 19th and 20th century.

Its deliberate attempt to isolate Kashmir from the rest of India's economic growth fraught with its malevolent policy of keeping Kashmiri people dependent for their livelihood is evident of the Indian colonialism.

Ironically this all is done with a facade of democracy which India has been able to portray to the outside world. It has taken maximum advantage of the west's open-ended war on terrorism by manipulating Kashmir within the domain of this war.

We understand that the current US position on Kashmir is to seek a local solution within the South Asia Region though contrary to the UN resolutions that the US, as a permanent member, has authored and affirmed in UN Security Council resolution. We still believe there is a possibility of seeking a solution locally, i. e., parties involved but with no compromising on the principle for the resolution of the future of the IDAJK.

The US support to such local initiatives is vital from the historical point of view. The IDAJK people see visit to India in November of the President Barak Hussein Obama and other honourable dignitaries to the 'Brahmins-Hindus alleged Indian democracy.
