Breaking: Toxic substance, swastikas sent to Rep. Grijalva's office --Incident marked third security issue at Grijalva's district offices 21 Oct 2010 Police locked down the Tucson congressional office of Rep. Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.) on Thursday afternoon after staffers received a package containing a "confirmed" toxic substance, a Grijalva spokesman said. A suspicious package with swastikas written on the envelope was mailed Thursday to the Tucson office, where about a dozen staffers work. Upon inspection, it was found the package contained a white powder authorities later determined to be toxic, said Grijalva campaign spokesman Adam Sarvana.

Pentagon Sends 2nd Carrier to Help Afghan Surge --The fleet's area of 'responsibility' includes the Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, and the areas off the Horn of Africa. 19 Oct 2010 The Pentagon has sent a second aircraft carrier to support the troop buildup in Afghanistan. The Navy says the USS Abraham Lincoln and the guided missile cruiser USS Cape St. George arrived in the region over the weekend. The Lincoln brings an airwing that can send an additional 60 aircraft into the war - adding to aircraft already there and flying from the carrier the USS Harry S. Truman.

Blast kills 9 civilians in Afghanistan 20 Oct 2010 An explosion in southwestern Afghanistan has killed at least nine civilians as security situation continues to deteriorate in the war-ravaged country. The incident occurred after a civilian bus hit a Taliban-style roadside bomb in a district of southwestern Nimroz Province. The bomb, which was planted to target military forces, killed civilians, with local sources saying that most of the victims were female students.

Canadian cmdr. could be 'serial killer' 21 Oct 2010 A former Canadian air force commander, who is charged with two counts of murder, could be a "serial killer", says a law expert. Judge asks federal government to explain polar bear listing 20 Oct 2010 Lawyers for the federal government, the state of Alaska, and oil and gas interests [eco-terrorists and sociopaths] were in court Wednesday to fight efforts by a coalition of environmental groups trying to force the Obama administration to put polar bears on the endangered species list, not just list them as threatened. CIA paid Liverpool buyout tycoon millions...to use his jet for 'torture' flights 18 Oct 2010 A jet owned by a senior executive in the US firm which has bought Liverpool Football Club was chartered by the CIA and used in flights allegedly linked to the rendition of terror suspects. The plane is owned by Phillip Morse, the vice-chairman of New England Sports Ventures, which bought the club on Friday for £300million. An investigation has established that between 2002 and 2005 the CIA chartered the plane from Mr Morse for millions of pounds and made extensive use of it.
