Along with Mr.Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed, Moulana Atheequr Rahman Saheb M.P.
and Dr. A J Faridi, Chairman of the All India Muslim Majlis, who were members of
the Aligarh Muslim University Central Action Committee formed in 1972 to protest
against the removal of the minority character of that University, I, had the
good fortune and pleasure of offering the ASR prayers inside the historic BABRI
MASJID in 1972. Besides, I am the Convener of this Committee since 1992, which
has been championing the cause of the Masjid since its wanton destruction. As
such I feel it is my imperative duty to IMPLEAD myself as an INTERVENER if and
when an APPEAL is filed in the Supreme Court against the verdict of the
Allahabad High Court. I have appealed to Muslim leaders and the Muslim public to
en masse implead themselves as INTERVENERS in the Supreme Court Appeal. To set
the ball rolling, I propose INSHA ALLAH to take steps to get myself impleaded as
an INTERVENER, I appeal to all justice-defenders to extend to me their whole-
hearted encouragement and support.
