Bangladesh Buddhist Federation celebrated the 2553rd Buddha Joyanti at International Bouddha Bihar at Merul Badda in the capital.
Led by Buddhist religious leaders, a peace rally was brought out from the
Bihar that ended at Mugdapara Stadium.
The president, Zillur Rahman, and the prime minister, Sheikh Hasina, gave separate messages on the occasion. The president hosted a reception for the Buddhists at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
