Subject: [contribute] Let BJP sit in the opposition but let is press its demands through Satyagraha

According to a news report dated the 9th May, 2009, BJP's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani on Friday made it clear that the Ram Temple at Ayodhya would become a reality any day the BJP secures a simple majority in the Lok Sabha. 'The supporters of a Ram Temple should understand one thing. There are limitations for a coalition government. We want a Ram Temple at Ayodhya. But the BJP getting simple majority is one thing and the coalition led by it getting the majority is another thing,' he said, speaking at a rally in favour of Tathagata Roy, the BJP candidate from North Kolkata. Advani also said the demand for a Ram Temple at Ayodhya should be made by all Indians: 'We want all Indians, Hindus and Muslims, to make the demand."

I would say that it is not written any scripture that BJP must form a Government even when it has not a majority of its own and cannot put its agenda into practice.  Let it learn to sacrifice and stick to its principles.  Let it not form the Government but press its following demands through Satyagraha on Gandhian lines:

1. Building a Ram Temple at Ayodhya
2. Abolishing article 370 of the Constitution conferring a special status on J&K.
3. Enforcing a Uniform Civil Code for all Indians
4. Deportation of illegal Bangladeshi migrants to their country of origin., etc.

Let it concretise its programme of Satyagraha if it does not get a simple majority in the elections on 16th May, 2009 and start its agitations, dharnas and bandhs etc. and I would join such a Satyagraha.  Let us not sacrifice our principles and let us fight for them through a non-violent Satyagraha.
